which one runs cooler (32 or 64 bit)?

I'm running Fedora 32 bit on a notebook equipped with a 64 bit architecture (Intel Core i5).
Is the 64 bit version better in order to save power and let the processor run cooler (or is the opposite)?

ARM.

All Intel processors run hot. Even the "cool" ones are hotter than the equivalent ARM.

How much memory do you have in your notebook?

Simply put a 32 bit operating system can only access about 3.3 GiB unless you use a PAE kernel.

But even with a PAE kernel a single process can't use more than 3 GiB.

So if you have more than 4 GiB of memory you might consider installing a 64 bit operating system.

Got any links to ARM notebooks

Nothing concrete: ASUS should have one (http://news.softpedia.com/news/ASUS-...A-207644.shtml)

But I haven't seen anything else (as in a review of actual hardware).

Just use 64-bit unless you have a particular need for 32-bit. The memory issues are more complex than many people realize due to PAE being less efficient and extending physical address-range only, coupled with the kernel's need to reserve a large portion of each 32-bit process's 4-GiB-limited virtual address-range for its own use. Also 64-bit has wider and more registers, and better support for position-independent code, and almost certainly has more developers using it.

Word-size shouldn't have any noticeable effect on temperature.

This is what I needed to know ...
Any way those are good reasons to go for the 64-bit ...

I have tried both 32 bit and 64 bit on mine. 32 bit, runs at 88.5 degrees, and 64 bit, runs at 77.9 degrees.
