Unhappy Installation not working

I've downloaded the FC3 ISOs and burnt them to CD very excited about installing Linux for the first time ever. I popped the first cd into the cdrom, turned on the pc and let it boot from the cd. Instead of an installation screen I get something like this:

Nvidia Boot Agent PXE-2.0. bla bla bla

Client MAC Address bla bla bla bla bla bla
Searching for DHCP .....

(I may have some wording slightly wrong in the above)

It never finds a DHCP server and after a while just ends and I get the standard message about cannot boot from drive please insert boot disk - the harddrive has nothing on it. it's been wiped clean.

I've read through these forums and can't find anything useful except to try burning the cds at a slower speed. I've tried that, even used a different burning program with no difference. Anyone have any other suggestions as to what could be wrong?

- some other info: If I try to boot with a harddrive containing an OS it skips the boot cd, despite the fact that it's set to boot from cd first. I've also tried the cd on 3 different machines with the same result.

Ok, found the problem. It seems the first cd doesn't boot. The Nvidia boot agent is part of my bios for booting over a network and has nothing to do with fedora.

I will have to redownload the first cd from a different mirror and see if it makes any difference.

Also make sure to check the m5sums, and also dont burn higher then 16x, anything higher will cause errors.

but you can make sure the cd works by running the media check on it during the install start up

Well I downloaded and ran md5summer on the file and it reported this:

d59f32ba00282cb2e48675e531669b2f *FC3-i386-disc1.iso

According to the website I should be getting this instead:

FC3-i386-disc1.iso (md5sum: db8c7254beeb4f6b891d1ed3f689b412)

It seems the checksum is kinda almost completely off there. *sigh*.

I've found someone on a local forum (I live in South Africa) who is willing to post the cds he's got of FC2. At least I know they will work. :P

Downloaded from a local mirror site (listed on the official Fedora website). I will try downloading FC3 from a the link you've given me sometime and see if I get better results. Thanks!
