Backgrounds

I'm downloaded serveral .PNG files to try to get them to work as my desktop background.

I'm using 1280x1024 right now, and a 1280x1024 background png file won't work... it loads and says it's okay and adds it to my list of backgrounds, but when I select it my background isn't the image, it's just a light blue solid color.

So I've tried all different kinds of backgrounds, all pngs, including standard sizes like 800x600. I can't get anything to work, they all just turn my desktop into a solid blue color.

Running Fedora Core 2.

Odd. No pngs work at all? When your background is just blue no image is loaded, just a color.

Maybe try a jpeg?

I tried a 1600x1200 .jpg file and got it to work with that.

I was thinking they had to be png files, but I was wrong.

So it isn't the backround switcher. Maybe libpng is messed up or not installed. Try installing it, it should come with Fedora.

Any other instances of pngs not working?
