Perhaps I am missing something, but I have run through all the menus in cnnamon and cannot find a way to save by current desktop as my default when logging in.
This used to be a feature in gnome under Fedora 14, but I am under 16 now.
$ cat /usr/share/xsessions/cinnamon.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Cinnamon
Name[en_GB]=Cinnamon
Comment=This session logs you into Cinnamon
Comment[en_GB]=This session logs you into Cinnamon
Exec=/usr/bin/gnome-session --session=cinnamon
# no icon yet, only the top three are currently used
Icon=
Type=Application
Thanks, I should be able to do this now. What I was expecting is a menu option to save my default desktop. I guess Gnome (hence Cinnamon too) took away this nice option. It used to be under "user preferences" somewhere to save your current layout for default. Too bad it was removed, FIPR strikes again (Fixed In Prior Release).
