Do the binary nvidia drivers work on F17 yet?

At one point the nvidia drivers *didn't*, because one of the files (akmod? Can't remember specifically) didn't support the kernel debug code... I think -- I apologize, I'm only half-remembering this conversation, but the gist was one of the components of the proprietary nvidia drivers wasn't compatible with the default kernel, and the only way to get it to work was to compile your own kernel without... something. I think it was the debug code.

Anyway, I was just wondering if that had changed by now. I heard a rumor that the F17 kernel no longer has debug code in it, so I thought maybe there was a chance.

Re: Do the binary nvidia drivers work on F17 yet?

Ah, OK. That's good to know!

---------- Post added at 08:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:03 PM ----------

I got them to work, but not with wine. xorg-x11-drv-nvidia.i686 is missing, which is a requirement to install xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.i686. Any thoughts/suggestions?

It seems that the new driver package forget to install the kernel commands for disable nouveau on a fresh installed fc17-beta-rc1.
