Blank Grey Screen Fedora 16 Install

I am trying to install Fedora 16 Live KDE through Virtual Box, but the install hangs at the blank screen and does not go anywhere. I am wanting to know if anyone knows how to fix this so I can get Fedora installed. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything, but that does not seem to work. Thanks for any help.

Re: Blank Grey Screen Fedora 16 Install

You cannot install "through" a VM.
But you can install an OS on/in a VM, as the OS remains in the VM.

That said, all work in a VM takes longer, best performance i had experienced with a minimal installation was like 25mins (on a live system this task takes ~ 10mins).
Worst performance was 30minutes to reach the location settings.

Tell us WHERE it seems to be hanging, and for HOW LONG.

Also, provide the virtual machine specifications you have assigned. More information would be helpful in troubleshooting.

It is necessary to allocate at least 768 MB RAM for Fedora installation (to start with).

O.K. I had the same problem once. That's why asked for the VM configuration. Assign 2 CPUs to the VM and it will most probably work. See if this fixes the problem.

Now, I do not know why it will not work with 1 CPU. But it did not. At that time I did not endeavour to find the cause of the problem. May be someone will throw some light on this issue.
