Router not found since 2.6.42.3-2.fc15.x86_64 kernel update

Since this latest Kernel update I was no longer see the "wireless" option in the Network Manager dropdown menu.

This was exactly the same problem I had before:

So, I rebuilt the akmods for wl as per:

su -c 'yum install akmod-wl'
su -c 'akmods --akmod wl'

This gave me my wireless back, HOWEVER my Router is no longer found, whereas other Routers in the neighbourhood are.

I tried to connect by selecting the "saved Router connection" in the Connection Manager, but this does not work.

I have tried re-starting the Router but its still not found. My Windows laptop and Android phone has no problem connecting to it.

Is there any reason why Fedora can no longer find my Router?

RESOLVED THE PROBLEM !!

I executed su -c 'iwlist wlan0 scan'
My router was not in the list, also I noticed that the Routers returned were all on a different channel to my Router.

So I changed the channel of my Router from 13, to 7. Then ran the same command again, and my Router appeared !!

Anyone explain this ?

As a further follow-up...

Executing: iwlist channel

Showed:
wlan0 11 channels in total; available frequencies :

In the EU we have channels 1 - 13, against 1 - 11 in the US
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi#Limitations

So somehow with the Kernel update my device now thinks its US, and as a result could not see my Router on Channel 13.

Not sure if this is a bug with the latest Kernel update?
