I am learning more about Linux and I have some questions.
Since I rarely modify things I never work with any of the systems so I am at a loss.
I see in the install log that some things didn't go right.

22:52:43 Installing ypbind-1.33-7.fc16.x86_64
Running in chroot, ignoring request.
22:52:55 Installing gpm-1.20.6-18.fc16.x86_64
error reading information on service gpm: No such file or directory
22:52:23 Installing plymouth-0.8.4-0.20110822.2.fc16.x86_64
Need 'inst' function, try setting PLYMOUTH_POPULATE_SOURCE_FUNCTIONS to a file that defines it
grubby fatal error: unable to find a suitable template
grubby: doing this would leave no kernel entries. Not writing out new config.
Are these things I should fix?

I have installed F14 and upgraded to F16.
I didn't see the failure of systemd notice this boot but the boot stopped after I entered the pass-phrase for the encrypted drive.
There is something wrong with F16 and encryption.
By installing F14 first some of the startup errors I don't see but it hangs just after the password is entered for the encrypted volume
So what do I do? I have tried every method I can think of to get a clean install.
At this point I'm unsure what to do.. F16 distro is not healthy on an 8-core 8150 cpu system afaict.
Any ideas?
