Hello, folks.
I apologise if there is a similar thread somewhere, I have searched all over the web and I couldn't find a thread that deals with my particular predicament. I'm rather green when it comes to linux, so I can't wrap my head around this problem.
Namely, having just installed f16 (lxde spin) on my HP Mini 210-1142cl, I found that neither my wireless nor LAN adapter seem to work out of the box. Thus, I cannot use any of the usual methods for updating and installing drivers, seeing as I cannot connect to the internet.
The cards in question are:
Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller (rev 02)
Network Controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller (rev 01)
I've found out that the driver I need (for wireless at least) is broadcom-wl. I've tried manually downloading the specific rpm package from another computer, as well as the required kmod-wl. However, I get burried under failed dependencies, for which google returns no results. I have a feeling I'm not approaching this in the correct manner.
Also, I feel as if I should mention that I used to have f15, and I had a similar issue after installation, but while wireless was not working, LAN was, and I was able to set everything up via a wired connection. Some time later, however, (months) wireless abruptly stopped working on it, which I tried sorting out in various ways, in the end giving up and hoping f16 would have better support. LAN stopped working as well, just kept trying to connect until it decided it couldn't and stopped. This same issue persists in f16.
Hopefully someone can make sense of this. Thanks in advance.
