Desktop Effects starts up when it should not.

Hi All,
Have been using Cinnamon (see : http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=274611), and like it quite a bit. However, for some reason "desktop effects" (bouncy windows) will decide to all of the sudden become active; (without being chosen in "Cinammon Settings" or in "dconf Editor"). The only thing I can do at that point is to log out, and then back in. Could somebody please help me fix it so "Desktop Effects" does not start on it's own?
You will certainly have my thanks and appreciation.
Note: Just noticed, starting up gedit is what seems to trigger it. ..Thanks, again.
