F16 as a server

How well does it work? I have a dedicated server and need it to be a router, do all serving capabilities and apache/file host. Would also like to use our wireless router as a wifi access point. For my xbox and the wifes macbook.

Re: F16 as a server

I'd go for something with a longer support cycle, like CentOS...

Re: F16 as a server

This case is about home server in which Fedora is fine.
For apache/file use, you will need to understand the basic mechanism of SELinux, an extra security layer. This blog provides a good guide for setup: http://www.if-not-true-then-false.co...x/fedora-linux. Hope it helps.

Re: F16 as a server

+1 Wayne It works really well for 14 months when support stops. Then you are faced with no support or else upgrade and reconfiguration. Of course if you apply updates hen something can break&change - usually at the least opportune moment. If you don't update & upgrade you may be stuck with some major securiy problem not being plugged.
