F16 VM-Player -- unable to start services

Greetings,

Linux custom 3.2.2-1.fc16.x86_64

I just installed VM-Player 4.0.2 and everything compiles fine. However at the end when I goes to start VM-Player I get an error "unable to start services".
Starting vmware (via systemctl): Job failed. See system logs and 'systemctl status' for details.

These messages are in dmesg:
[ 523.685876] /dev/vmmon[14060]: Module vmmon: registered with major=10 minor=165
[ 523.685900] /dev/vmmon[14060]: Initial HV check: anyNotCapable=0 anyUnlocked=0 anyEnabled=1 anyDisabled=0
[ 523.685929] /dev/vmmon[14060]: HV check: anyNotCapable=0 anyUnlocked=0 anyEnabled=1 anyDisabled=0
[ 523.685930] /dev/vmmon[14060]: Module vmmon: initialized

[ 581.570398] [15851]: VMCI: host components initialized.
[ 581.570756] [15851]: VMCI: Module registered (name=vmci,major=10,minor=59).

[ 581.570760] [15851]: VMCI: Module (name=vmci) is initialized
[dan@custom ~]$

I don't see anything about "systemctl status" in dmesg. Is there somewhere else I should look?

Re: F16 VM-Player -- unable to start services

This seems to be the problem, compile errors. This started when I updated to kernel 3.2.2-1.fc16.x86_64.
I have installed the lastest vmplayer of 4.0.2. Does anyone have a solution?

There is a fix posted by fabiorcork on Jan 29 at:
http://communities.vmware.com/message/1899875?tstart=0

I have tested the patch and it works.
