I recenlty updated from release 14 to 16 and was literally shocked about gnome 3. I looks nice but I simply cannot work with it. I immediately installed the Gnome Tweak Tool, however I still missed the ability to put icons in the top bar (e.g. volume control, block notes, sytem monitor) and the ability to minimize windows and see them on the bottom bar (if I minimize a window it jsut disappears now). I therefore login in gnome classic compiz (by the way, is this gnome 2 or 3?). This is a bit better but I still have several issues:
- Cannot find colume control to put on the top bar
- If I download something, cannot open the file directly
- In Applications/Others there are a lot of programs which should belong to System tools (e..g printing, firewall, network, Samba, ...)
Does anyone have a solution to this? I just would like to have something similar/identical to gnome2 or some tweak tools which would transform gnome3 much more into gnome2.
Thanks for your help
