Thunar and Network Browsing

Hello, new to Fedora here from the Debian world. I'm running the fully updated Fedora 16 XFCE Spin. I am not able to browse the Windows Network with Thunar.

I can ping the Windows machine and I can connect to it via an fstab mount and in Thunar by accessing it via smb://ip-address/share-name/

I installed fuse-smb and gvfs-smb and verified that gvfs-fuse is installed.

I have been searching Google and the forums but currently I have not found anything to help me figure out why I cannot browse the network via the network icon.

When I click on Network I see Windows Network in the right panel of thunar.

When I double click on Windows Network I get the following error:

Code:
Failed to Open "Windows Network"

Failed to retrieve share list from server.
If more info is needed, I'll be happy to provide it, just not sure what to provide to help troubleshoot.

Re: Thunar and Network Browsing

Just an update....it appears I just needed to let things sit for a day or two because now Network Browsing in Thunar is working just fine.

Re: Thunar and Network Browsing

I had the same problem and my solution was that a samba port was not open by the f16 firewall. I ran wireshark and saw that my windows boxen responses were not getting through.
