Question on package building?

Hi,
I'm semi new to Linux as my main OS. I mastered Windows and wanted to learn more and I love Linux.

However I recieved a surprise when VMware Workstation decided to be uncompatible with a lot of Linux Distros; Fedora being one of them. I am interested in building a package that will allow VMware Workstation to work on as many Linux Distros as I can create the package to be compatible with.

Is there a link or section I can go to, to get the information I seek?

I research malware and Since VMware is the only VM that works for my needs on executing multi platform pieces of malware I really need it.
