access to shared files from SAMBA

G'day all

Can anyone please tell me how I can acess my shared network from fedora 16. When ever I try to acess my Windows 7 WORKGROUP from Fedora 16, it comes up and tells me it's timed out or it just won't let me enter any of my Windows shared files. I need acess into windows from Fedora 16.

When I am in Windows I can access my shared files/directories I set up through SAMBA but just not the other way round. I have tried to do this with my firewall turned off from Windows and Fedora and also turned off SELinux but still won't let me access my Window's WORKGROUP.

Any help will be much appreciated. I never had this issue with Fedora 9,10,11, 12, 13, 14 or 15.

Regards

Charlie

Re: access to shared files from SAMBA

I'm assuming your using gnome. In nautilus click the file menu then click connect to server. type in the windows ip address and enter your creditials this should get you on the network. Yeah F16 seems to be full of issues.

Is service "Samba-client" enabled in your firewall?
