fc16 does not automount my usb drives

My recent fc16 install does not automatically mount my external usb drives. I can click on the drives on the desktop, and they will mount. However this does not help me if I ssh.

Can someone tell me how to reenable automounting my usb drives? If I remember correctly, this was FC14's default behavior. I tried usermount(1), but that doesn't seem to be right.
