How to run an installed application

Hi,

I have installed a package but cant find it in the applications/software list to "launch/run" the software. When I search it is there in etc but I can't run it. Can someone give me the command as root or another suggestion.

Maybe if you gave a clue as to what package you installed someone might be able to help you?

Wayne,

Apparently the package isn't to be discussed on the forum. My previous thread was closed. You may mail me.

Re: How to run an installed application

Try opening a Terminal and run the package from there...

Or <gasp> read any documentation that was in the package or on the package writer's homepage.

Re: How to run an installed application

If it's in the /etc folder, try running from a terminal window as: /etc/program-name

Re: How to run an installed application

Okay, anyone who checks your previous posts will realize that you're discussing a password-cracking program. So, just not mentioning the name in this thread is not going to stop some young, bored kid with getting bad information first-hand.

If you do need kind of thing for good purposes, then there are discussion groups elsewhere and a thread of questions directly on the software site. Our concern is that people who want to use it for evil purposes will be assisted by such a thread.

Of course, if anyone wants to actually assist you, then I'd suggest that they PM or email you directly, but this topic must be removed from FedoraForum.org . Thread Closed!
