Linux newbie / sound card snd-emu10k1

I just installed FC3 on my desktop. The hardware browser tells me correctly that I have a "Creative Labs SB Live! EMU10K1 installed. But I cannot get any sound. The test with soundcard detecion program is negative. Where do I have to start looking for? Googling was not a big help

I have the same issue with my SB Live! card.
After some testing and tinkering I found that the card own lineout will produce nothing, but the Live! Drive lineout does work.

Lightbulb

If you plug headphones directly into the soundcard output, so you get sound? If so, it could be that you have digital speakers. I haven't yet installed FC3 but try this... Double click the speaker icon in the panel(lower right) and have a look at the mixer. Is there something where you can choose digital or analog? I am hoping that there is so my exact same problem will be solved.

Hi CHAS.H. I finally was able to get sound, just by playing with all the knobs on yhe gnome-volume-control. In my case I had to increase volume of "WAFE" and "WAFE LFE"
