Demise of an Awesome Application in Fedora16
Hi,
I am disheartened to see that from Fedora-16, fedora community has discontinued the best Note taking application "Basket" notepad to include in its distribution.
I really love this application and has been using it extensively. I am really heart broken by the fact that this application is no longer be included in Fedora.

Well, I don't know anything about it or what happened to it, but it's still around as source code. If you miss it that badly, what about compiling it from source?

Looks like a KDE package. You could also try installing the F15 rpm packages of basket and basket-libs from koji. No guarantee they will install OK in F16, but it won't hurt to try.

Re: Demise of an Awesome Application in Fedora16
That's the great thing about free and open source software, even if some distro discontinues to include it, it's still always out there, at the very least, in the form of it's source code. If you feel comfortable doing a compile, you should still be able to get this program.

Hi, I have been using Basket since Fedora 13, and I also like it very much. Good app on cleaning the mind ha. Anyway do you know something about the reason for taking basket out of the distro? Maybe since Fedora 16 they are promoting some other application in replace of?
Meanwhile I will install it from kde.org http://basket.kde.org/download.php

Re: Demise of an Awesome Application in Fedora16
I've rebuilt it and it appears to run fine. No weird dependencies, and 4.5M & 1.5M for Basket and Libraries respectively. Let me know if you want it, RPM attachments are limited to 1.95MB.
O, I'm x86_64.

It's too large to attach.

I've also rebuilt the i686 if someone's looking for it. Same place.

Beaker,
Hey buddy, I accidentally deleted the rpm's which you provided. They were the only source which helped me build BasKet correctly. Would you be so kind as to upload them somewhere or open up download access again?
Many thanks...
