If you still get this error, try "yum what-provides libnm-util.so.2" and reinstall that package, although in that case there may be several broken packages that need fixing.
Hey Gareth, thanks for the help, "yum-complete-transaction" produced message that there are no transactions, however "yum update" installed the rest of updates and GNOME shell started after reboot. Had a hard time setting wireless connection over command line, but after some time I managed to connect to the network. :-)
