Fedora 16 XFCE; emacs ALT key

Hi,
On fedora 16 xfce, 64-bit, the alt key no longer works as it's supposed to for emacs (Meta key). I have to use escape instead. Any idea what's happened and how I should fix it?

Is this in the XFCE spin? I suspect that they have remapped the mod keys. You could try searching for how to map them, but I have no idea I am afraid.

Yes, it's in the XFCE spin. I will try to figure out how to do what you've suggested.

If anyone has any tips on how to get started, I'm all ears.. or eyes.

Thanks again!

I've looked for ways to remmap the modkeys but I haven't found anything useful.... Any ideas, anyone?

Re: Fedora 16 XFCE; emacs ALT key

Okay, so I've narrowed down the problem.. this ONLY happens when I'm sshed into another server (any server). When I use the local graphical emacs, the ALT key functions as expected.

These solutions here fixed the problem:
