Re: fedora vs ubuntu

I use both on an almost daily basis - Fedora at work and Ubuntu at home. IMHO, Ubuntu does a slightly better job at general purpose computing...music files, video and other such common tasks. Not that Fedora isn't just as capable, I just have found the apps available for Ubuntu for my needs to be superior. On the flip...Fedora is a bit more consistent an "production ready" - if that make any sense.

Hope that helps....good luck!

This is what computing is called these days: "music files, video and other such common tasks."

This is hardly possible as neither Ubuntu nor Fedora are in any way developing such applications: all of this is common Open Source, and both are drawing from it. Fedora does this directly, while Ubuntu grew up as (the most important) derivative of Debian.
