Fedora 16 Fresh Install does not show applications or Places button on Panel

Hi,

This might be noobish query, but I am new to fedora. Do we need to enable it from some settings or some other problem ? I am running it from USB.

Some other problems:
1. There is no Max or min button on Firefox.
2. No Bottom Panel for open apps.
3. No option to change a theme.

Regards.

Re: Fedora 16 Fresh Install does not show applications or Places button on Panel

Gnome 3 shell no longer has those things.

If you wish to see your applications, then go to the applications overview (Click Activities, then select Applications)

There are also extensions to Gnome shell that will put the places and applications back on the top bar.

Code:
su -
(root password)

yum install gnome-shell-extension-common gnome-shell-extension-apps-menu gnome-shell-extension-places-menu
You probably need to restart gnome shell after installing them.
