Kindly help me to setup PPPOE

Hi I am not experienced Linux user . I am dual booting Ubuntu with Fedora

I could not connect to internet and a guy from ubuntu forums suggested ....


I will assume you have a computer DSL setup in windows (not a router configuration setup) if that is correct then the best and easy way to do it on ubuntu is open terminal and type

sudo pppoeconf

follow the prompts, type username and password, this should get your internet connected if your internet provider uses the pppoe DSL dial up protocol.

I follow his instructions and I am connected to internet in ubuntu but in Fedora it is not working...

[root@Home asif]# pppoeconf
bash: pppoeconf: command not found...
[root@Home asif]# 
[root@Home asif]# sudo pppoeconf
sudo: pppoeconf: command not found

how can I find similar function in Fedora ,

Try using nm-connection-editor to setup a DSL connection

I am a new Linux user so will really appreciate if Fedora community helps me to connect to internet .

I am connected to Internet using Ubuntu but with Fedora 16 no luck so far

with ubuntu I typed

sudo pppoeconf

and in prompts typed my username and password it did rest of for me

But with Fedora I have configured the PPPOE but not working . Can anybody please check and suggest me any solution..?

Type '/sbin/ifup ppp0' to bring up your xDSL link and '/sbin/ifdown ppp0'
to bring it down.
Type '/sbin/pppoe-status /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ppp0'
to see the link status.
