Flash screen under ATI closed source drivers using OPERA, and gnome crashes sometime

Flash screen under ATI closed source drivers when I use navigator OPERA, and gnome shell crashed occasionally.

Here is the thing
I installed ATI closed source drivers at first, but it didn't work. Then I uninstalled it and installed the open source ati drivers then it worked.
After that I wondered why the closed source didn't work. The ATI engineering should test it with common sense. So I thought about uninstalling the open source drivers and reinstalled closed source drivers. I did it and an interesting thing happened, the closed source drivers worked too.

Then I installed navigator OPERA 11.60beta, that I've been using for more than 10 years, and open it. But sadly it caused flashing screen when I opened the application panel, for instance moving the cursor to the left top corner. then I closed it and opened firefox, no flash screen was seen. I didn't try it under the ati open source drivers. I haven't gone far and run for a long time, so I don't if this problem is particle or common. I've tried the opera version 11.52, it happened too.

In addition, when I used the fedora15, it flashed all the time under both two sort of drivers whenever opera was open or not . So i decided remove fedora 15 completely, installed fedora 16 and see if the problem would have been resolved. At last, it resolves without OPERA. And the crash of gnome shell took place sometimes occasionally.

I don't which program is responsible for this problem, maybe ATI drivers or OPERA.

That's all
