My Gnome (fedora15) is not working- only background image

Hi
I am newbie to fedora; I installed it today and I installed couple of softwares which I really need and spent some hours with slow internet connection. the last time I changed the background image but it did not worked.

when I restarted the machine after logging-in I face the changed the background image without any keys active no activity key, nothing. (I have restated it for couple of times but the same thing happens). I don't want to waste my effort. if anyone have any suggestion on how I get thing back to normal please help me.

best regards
