I ran pre-upgrade, then anaconda.
My release is still 15 and so are the repos.
I skipped boot loader configuration. I want handle that by hand because I have a multi-boot system, use lvm on raid and compiled and configured grub 1.99 ( gurb2) myself for F15 etc. I just want kernel, system files, programs, & repos upgraded to F16.
What happened? What should I do next ?
Here is an expanded account of what happened:
I ran preupgrade. Preupgrade reported success and to reboot through the dialog but in the terminal window I got and error / exception reported at the bottom of my post.
I figured if the dialog said it worked why not forge forward and see what happens. I rebooted and ran anancoda.
I am booting from grub prompt into anaconda and did something like the following :
linux ($root)/boot/upgrade/vmlinuz root=/dev/mapper/raidvg-Fedora15
initrd ($root)/boot/upgrade/initrd.img
Is this where I went wrong? Can someone post the line from their grub2 configuration?
Am I supposed to run anaconda again? I am going to give that a try.
Anyway continuing my longer account, I had a problem with swap on my first anaconda run. It complained because I'd removed a drive and one swap partition was not available. There were 4 others all fine. Picky maybe a bug worth filling. I rebooted into single user and commented out that swap. Anaconda ran fine. It did not take as long as I expected it to.
Preupgrade reported success and to reboot.
I then rebooted and found no new kernel...then no new system.
I guess I will try another anaconda boot.
Why should preupgrade care that my boot is lvm on raid ? Anaconda found my install just fine.
