FIXED - iptables: target `standard' v1.2.8 (I'm v1.2.7a). - huh?

##############################

In all my retarded-ness this has been resolved. I was running just iptables from a regular user's environment, which was using the binary from /home/thatuser/bin/iptables

the real one was /sbin/iptables

kids, don't forget that absolute paths are your friend....

###############################
This just started happening. I didn't instally anything new. it comes up when I try to do anything in iptables really.

I'm running FC1 on the box in question. It won't let me do jack with iptables while it is throwing this error.
