Local DNS SERVER

I created a local DNS server with ip addressing 192.168.0.0. The issue is when I restart my bind i received public address in resolv.conf file. plus when i unlug my network cable i received nslookup reply.

Can anyone tell me how to setup a DNS server in lab environment. means without any involvement of ISP and public address. I am using vmplayer.

All you need to do is to just install bind and start it.

Then you need to set up the IP of the server as the DNS server for each PC you want to use it.
For linux this is done in /etc/resolv.conf
For windows pcs this is done in the properties of the default network adapter
