Need support to install and run Samsung SCX-4521F at Fedora 15

I have MFP Samsung SCX-4521F and some days ago I switched from Ubuntu to Fedora (main reason to use Fedora is that I wasn't able to use MFP Samsung SCX-4521F anymore on newest Ubuntu updated version 11.10, till this update MFP was working as dream), I spent some days reading forums but I wasn't able to find right solution to run MFP on Fedora 15. Please let me know how I can install Samsung-4521F (scanner and printer) on F15? If I do not find solution I'm planing to test OpenSuse, Mandriva or Debian in order to make it works.

download the unified linux driver from the following link
and execute as root user:

cd cdroot

Start the unified linux driver installation wizard with

i do not have a Samsung SCX-4521F and down't know whether it's necessary
to add the printer with CUPS (http://www.localhost:631) instead of the Samsung configurator.

I have downloaded file from location you wrote. When I write comand in terminal to I got following:

I'm quiet new user of Fedora and I will need some time to understand commands and how it works.

change to the folder where the file is listet (maybe ~/Downloads) or do the following again:

cd /tmp
wget http://pvi.samsung.de/getDownloadFile.aspx?file=9ccbabc4-c52e-4cc8-bce0-87029646a4a3
tar xfz 060719091928968_unifiedlinuxdriver.tar.gz
cd cdroot

I have followed your instruction and I got this

I do not know how and where to change directory but I see that downloaded driveres are in Home/Downloads

I followed your instruction till command tar, here I'm stucked, this is what I get

All went smooth, I installed samsung unified drivers based on your instructions, than installation wizard came up and I have added printer that was recognized by program (my MFP is connected with lpt) I finished wizard installation and than inside Unified Driver Configurator there is no printer, I try to refresh but nothing happens, I tried to check scanner and Unified Driver Configurator can not find scanner, than I tried to add printer from Unified Driver Configurator and I again program recognize MFP device, and I go step by step trough wizard and again the same happens, there is no printer and there is no scanner inside of Unified Driver Configurator. This is nightmare for me, please help me to install this device, SCX-4521F is nice machine I do not want to put it in the trash!

you can try to install the printer from console as root user:

lpadmin -p scx4x21 -m samsung/scx4x21.ppd.gz -v mfp:/dev/mfp0

or try to add the printer with CUPS via webtool

add the following address to your firefox

localhost:631/printers/

or try it again with the Samsung printer/scanner configurator

Somewhat connected to this. I have installed the samsung unified drivers but the printer does not print test pages (nor anything else). The job queue reports jobs of lenght 0. Occasionally I've managed to have it spit out a blank page saying "You are using the wrong driver for your printer!". Still I've tried a few times, tried logging out and in, but I can't get it to work. tail of var/log/messages attached
