how to install canon LBP3000 printer driver?

how are you. how can i install cannon LBP3000 printer driver in Fedora15? or where can i download the driver software?

download from canon homepage the following tar archive that contains the
necessary rpm packages.

tar xvfz CAPT_Printer_Driver_for_Linux_V220_uk_EN.tar.gz

on 32bit platform (i386)

1. install rpm package as root:

cd CAPT_Printer_Driver_for_Linux_V220_uk_EN/32-bit_Driver
yum localinstall --nogpg cndrvcups-capt-2.20-1.i386.rpm cndrvcups-common-2.20-1.i386.rpm

on 64bit platform (x86_64)

cd CAPT_Printer_Driver_for_Linux_V220_uk_EN/64-bit_Driver
yum localinstall --nogpg cndrvcups-capt-2.20-1.x86_64.rpm cndrvcups-common-2.20-1.x86_64.rpm

2. run as root:

/usr/sbin/lpadmin -p LBP3000 -m CNCUPSLBP3000CAPTK.ppd -v ccp://localhost:59687 –E
/usr/sbin/ccpdadmin -p LBP3000 -o /dev/usb/lp0
/etc/init.d/ccpd restart

3. open the port 59687 tcp and udp.

4. the ccpd service does not start by default. Put in /etc/rc.d/rc.local

/sbin/service ccpd start

but I installed by followed the steps but it didn't work.
It appeared two printer in printer configuration.
local printers
LBP3000 location
printer description: LBP3000
Device URl: ccp://localhost:59687
and
LBP3000-2 location: localhost.localdomain
printer description: Canon LBP3000
Device URl: usb://Canon/LBP3000


when you click the button page test. it didn't work. it shows:
CUPS server error - KDE control Module
There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'client-error-not-possible'.

and in ' Document Print Status' window
' 2 Unknow Unknow LBP3000-2 1522k 10minuets ago canceled'
you can not cancel the process. it stops there.


How can i solve the problem.
I want to uninstall the driver and install again. How can i do this? Thank you.

you can remove the printer with the command

/usr/sbin/lpadmin -x <printer_name>

or mange it with the CUPS Web Interface

Did you install Ghostscript first as stated on the download page?

I suggest removing both printers in CUPS, then add a new printer back.
