Hello all, Ive been going crazy

for the past week (ever since my parents were kind enough to get me a laptop) trying to get Linux (so far ive tried: Archlinux, Debian, and now Fedora) on my laptop (model: hp pavilion dm4-1273ca).
I managed to install f15 x64 with no problems (i tried the gnome version and now im using the security spin), but both would fail when it came to my video adapter.. Now, for some reason it see's that i have 2 video cards. It see's my radeon hd 6300m series video card and and intel (this is prob. cause of the process. core i5). Both distributions of Fedora wouldn't load with the boot option, i had to use the boot(basic video). Now i tried the proprietary driver on the gnome version and it would get stuck on sysv something something (lol), and i would end up giving up.. I tried to follow the Ati tutorial provided on this forum and it would give me a blinking cursor of death, even if i want to switch tty's it would always switch back to the cursor (don't ask me lol)..
So now im running the fedora security spin dual-booting with windows 7 everything works fine on Fedora (and i must say, it's f'n awesome!). I need to get this working cause i plan on doing alot of SDL,Allegro, and OpenGL programming and i need it for school (like asap)..
Any help or advice would be appreciated, Thank You.
