Re: Fedora 15 Gnome 3 tries to launch kconsole for terminal
I've got GNOME, KDE, Xfce and LXDE all installed, and there are two indistinguishable "Terminal" icons in my applications list, plus LXTerminal and XTerm. Of the two "Terminal"s, one is Xfce Terminal, the other gnome-terminal. Konsole has its own entry, but with the same graphic as both the "Terminal" entries. Of course, it may be called Terminal in other locales (I'm using en_GB). I use the terminal quite a lot, so I made sure to add my preferred terminal to the dash.
If KDE is installed, why does /usr/bin/konsole not exist? Did you specifically uninstall it, or are you actually searching for "kconsole" by mistake? Does Konsole actually start when you click on the icon, of do you get an error?
Basically I'm trying to find out if this is the normal but annoying confusion of having multiple desktop environments installed, or whether the applications list is actually broken...
