Exclamation sendmail service doesnt automatically start on fedora 15

hi guys
i recently upgraded to fedora 15 and i have noticed that my send mail service doesn't automatically start on boot yet chkconfig --list sendmail shows me that it is configured correctly to start on all run levels
and when i start it from the prompt it starts without any errors and works normally till the next reboot. the problem is some times when i reboot the machine i may forget to start it yet i utilise it heavily for the services i run on the machine so any advise on how i could go about this is welcome

Cat the ouput of
Code:

Re: sendmail service doesnt automatically start on fedora 15

When I check the output sendmail is configured to start.
S80sendmail -> ../init.d/sendmail
Check if sendmail depend on other services (like ldap) to start.
If yes this services (ie ldap) must start before sendmail.

Re: sendmail service doesnt automatically start on fedora 15

Use the systemctl command to start and stop services for Fedora 15.
Code:
[root@satellite15 glenn># systemctl status sendmail.service
sendmail.service - LSB: start and stop sendmail
	  Loaded: loaded (/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail)
	  Active: active (running) since Thu, 06 Oct 2011 04:46:47 -0400; 55s ago
	 Process: 1797 ExecReload=/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail reload (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
	 Process: 1029 ExecStart=/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail start (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
	Main PID: 1144 (sendmail)
	  CGroup: name=systemd:/system/sendmail.service
		  ├ 1144 /usr/sbin/sendmail -bd -q1h
		  └ 1193 /usr/sbin/sendmail -L sm-msp-queue -Ac -q1h
Have a look at man systemctl

PHP Code:
systemctl enable sendmail.service
systemctl start sendmail
.service
systemctl stop sendmail
.service
systemctl status sendmail
.service

Re: sendmail service doesnt automatically start on fedora 15

@linux2001 how do i check if it is dependant on other services to start please guide me
@glennzo i am unfortunately still heavily reliant on the old fedora way of doing things since i am not yet very well conversant with systemctl but when i tried to enable and check the status of send mail using the commands you gave me all looked fine so i still don't understand what is causing this
Code:
[root@ugn37series ~]# systemctl status sendmail.service
sendmail.service - LSB: start and stop sendmail
          Loaded: loaded (/etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail)
          Active: active (running) since Thu, 06 Oct 2011 02:36:10 +0300; 23h ago
        Main PID: 2362 (sendmail)
          CGroup: name=systemd:/system/sendmail.service
                  ├ 2362 sendmail: accepting connections
                  └ 2370 sendmail: Queue runner@01:00:00 for /var/spool/clientmqueue
and guys also some help on the new systemctl is welcome since i haven't yet found good documentation on how it all fits in and what now lies under systemctl and where what is in systemctl used to be before

Re: sendmail service doesnt automatically start on fedora 15

Hmmm. Sounds more like it may be a network problem.

What is the error when it doesn't start?
