sshd Failed to allocate internet-domain X11 display socket error.
I've checked Google, bugzilla, and searched here. Has anyone else seen this error with Fedora 15 with all the latest updates?
I'm just asking in case there's something in the works and I don't want to start a dupe bug.

What makes you think it's a bug? Tell us more about the circumstances.
What was the command you were actually trying to run? Does this happen when it is connected to by a client?
Have you increased the log level to provide more debugging information in your logs?
When did it start happening?
Were you running it from within X11?
Have you tried doing it with selinux in permissive or disabled mode?
Does it happen on all machines you have tried?
Is the client the same openssh version as the server?

Dave

Re: sshd Failed to allocate internet-domain X11 display socket error.
Apparently this is a bug in sshd. This is what I found in this thread:
Description:
Looks like the fix for CR 6684003 breaks sshd's ability to bind to a local
socket for X forwarding. bind() returns EADDRNOTAVAIL for every bind call to ::1
for ports 6010->6999, but never tries IPv4 localhost addresses.
So apparently if you don't have an IPv6 interface, you get this error. There were two solutions, either put "AddressFamily inet" in the sshd_conf and restart or enable IPv6 on lo0.
I went with the sshd_config solution and it works.

Re: sshd Failed to allocate internet-domain X11 display socket error.
In neither case is this necessarily sshd problem. It should be using a domain socket for connections as the default X configuration has TCP disabled. And that means that sshd cannot make a network connection of any type.
Is the sshd configuration set to permit X forwarding?

Yes.
The thing is I had to turn off IPv6 on my system because of issues with Google resolving "incorrectly" to an IPv6 address. This was because I had IPv6 turned on in eth0 by default and (apparently) my network wasn't handling IPv6 properly. I have no control over the network configs and when it was mentioned to network support, it was deemed "Not A Problem" and they closed the ticket. Yes, I realize that they will have to deal with it someday, but until the top brass raises a stink, it's not going to happen.
I'm probably going to experiment with turning it on in the lo interface and see if that gives better results.
Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions so far. This forum is great.

Same issue here. "AddressFamily inet" fixed it for me. I would never have found that on my own. Thanks!

Cape Town - Uncapped Internet was first launched in South Africa almost two years ago, but many South Africans have yet to make the switch to an unhindered Internet experience.
Malviq Gordon, Coretwo Networks, says one of the reasons for this is it's hard for consumers to know what they’re missing out on when they have not experienced ADSL | bussiness Uncapped and Home uncapped scenario or don’t have friends who have an uncapped Internet connection.
“Uncapped Internet access opens up a new world of opportunity, enabling you to enrich your personal and professional lives with information and entertainment, community and commerce. From watching your favourite shows online to making VoIP calls; shopping or gaming online; you can now explore content without having to worry about being capped,” says Malviq.
