Question Java keyboard mapping messed up

Hi all,

This is one that's been bugging me for a while now and I hope someone here has an answer..

I use Java remote console apps from both sun and dell to access a number of servers I administer. unfortunately since I started using Fedora* on my PC (started with FC13) when I using the remote console apps, the keyboard mapping is screwed up.

Mainly the cursor keys don't work. I have tried changing the xkb model (to evdev) and layout (us) but it does not seem to make a difference. Neither does the type and version of java. (Sun 1.6u* and openjdk).

Using Sun Java 1.6u20 on Solaris seems to work OK, and surprisingly (which confuses me even more) if I run the remote console app on the Solaris system and display it on the FC15 machine (via X), it seems to work OK too.

* I don't thinks its a purely Fedora issue. I have vague recollections of seeing something similar on Ubuntu a while back

If anyone has any ideas, it would be appreciated.
