F14 Running Slow

whenever i run some program with firefox and/or copy files the system runs slow ...i have intel pentium 4 with 500MB ram 82845G graphics card ....i have already tried stopping unnecessary daemons ..when this happens half of my RAM is empty but still PC runs slow..i am attaching the list of running daemons...the output of ps -A..please tell me what else can i do...

I dont know if this is related at all (probably not), but recently i had the same problem, my trouble was scribes started up in the background, when ever i double clicked to open a file with gedit and scibes used up all the resources, i just removed scribes.

I too had issues with scribes, and removed it as well. I would try to open something with scribes, and it would just sit there and laugh at me.

please do help me i am sharing my cpu reports...specially cpu benchmarks show 1.5Ghz but it is 2.66Ghz...
