cloning F15 to a larger HDD

Sorry in advance if this has been answered elsewhere, I have not been able to find an answer by searching yet.

Anyway I want to put my current F15 install on a larger HDD, but as it is installed in an lvm, I'm afraid to go resizing to fill the new space once i clone it over, mainly for fear of the unknown and lack of findable documentation on the subject.
I'm currently waiting for all my data to back up to my other computer, and iv backed up into folders named home, and root - with the appropriate data in each (i have excluded proc, media, mnt and tmp from my root backup, I hope I have it right that these 4 are not needed).
With my root and home backed up, will i be able to just boot a live cd, create the needed partitions on the new hdd (/boot, /root, /home, swap) and copy the root and home backups over to the new hdd, and then some how install grub? That seems to be the logical steps needed..

Or am I going the wrong way about all this?

Re: cloning F15 to a larger HDD

LVM has the capability of letting you mirror logical volumes, so if you have both drives on the same system you should be able to tell it to clone onto the new drive, when its on there be able to remove the old drive, then resize the logical volume (then do your filesystem resizing etc)
