local ftp

I have a local ftp server, handling by my isp, it's resolving as ftp://ftp, or by ip address. so, it was on XP.
but on FC 2 it's not resolving and i cannot login via ip.
so on xp threre was "ipconfig /refresh (/flushdns)". But I can't fix it on FC2.
what should I do to resolve it?

Does cannot login mean the connection was refused or you entered an incorrect user name and password and got access denied? To fix connection refused allow ftp through the firewall (System Settings > Security Level).
