Exclamation Win Min Problems

I've managed to get a bug called 'Win Min' and can't get rid of it. It's slowing down the computer and changing all my favorites and hompage. I've tried Ad-Aware but it keeps coming back.

Please Help Me

Favorites? Are you using IE on a Windows box?

If you insist on using Windows, then at the very minimum you should switch to Firefox for web browsing.

As far as the Win Min thing goes, you can:

a. Get rid of Windows.
b. Try hijackthis to track down the little nasty:http://www.spychecker.com/program/hijackthis.html
c. Boot into a recovery consol and type format c:
d. Boot into a recovery consol and type del /F /S /Q *

I like options a, c, and, d, but you might want to use option b.

Son, I understand that you're only 13 and you like hanging out here at FedoraForum; I have no problem with that. Do keep in mind that FedoraForum (even in Wibble) really isn't the best place on the Internet to get help with Windows issues. As for the Adware that you managed to get on your computer (that you built yourself ), I have to agree with Optimistic that you could save yourself lots of grief by just reinstalling your OS. Reinstalling with Fedora Core 3 is much advised. And by doing so, you'll gain valuable experience that will allow you to assist other members of this forum so you can boost your Reputation score.

Take care and good luck.

Make use of the all powerful wholly omnipotent format c: Things like that can sometimes be near impossible to get off; I got one really nasty virus a few months back that printed "-" where ever the cursour allowed you to entre text. The interesting thing is that the more you hit delete the faster the thing printed "-" it was evil. I had to do an emergency format took me 4 hours I think to setup stuff again, I didn't sleep till about noon...
