Hi

Follow along in the devel mailing list and you will get to know. All decisions are made in public

Rahul, i always follow the devel list, i havent seen anything mentioned whether its still gonna be default or not but i do recall Josef saying that a few things are unlikely to be completed before F16 goes final. i could probably dig that thread up, which has the post from Josef linked in it . im not exactly sure what he meant by that though? im assuming a workinable fsck will be in BTRFS before it goes Alpha? ( not these Test Candidates )

Hi

The last update from him is the one that we all have now. Like I said, any further discussions will happen publicly and you can get to know about it along with the rest of us. AdamW or me don't know more than you on what will be decided.

Re: BTRFS and F16

I believe the last thing I read (which was indeed on -devel, I think) is that this is dependent on a working fsck for btrfs being available in time, and that was considered quite unlikely to happen, so it's likely this would be pushed to F17.

Re: BTRFS and F16

detox: it wouldn't be removed until FESCo makes a final decision one way or the other.

Re: BTRFS and F16

I thought I'd update this thread for the sake of completeness. It's decided - btrfs will NOT be the default file system in Fedora 16.

Too bad, but in my opinion, the only sensible choice in the current situation.

Here is the source of this information (fedora-devel list).
