Hello,
Fresh FC15 on a Hp laptop dv6-3194
A soon I connect an external monitor via the VGA port, both the laptop LCD display and the external monitor goes off then on every 20 seconds.
This happens immediately when the monitor is connected and without no other actions;
I installed the kmod as explained here:
HTML Code:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=155503&highlight=kmod+akmod+ati
and the problem disappears. But this is not the good solution because the definition is limited to 1600x1600 and I need 2048x1536
This problem does not occur with the same PC+monitor on a fresh FC14. This means that the ATI chip and the monitor are OK.
I'd like to determine if the problem comes from X server or the graphic driver
and ideally find a forkaround/fix.
Latest Xorg and kernel are installed; (2.6.38.6-26.rc1.fc15.i686.PAE)
Some data you may have a look to:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Redwood [Radeon HD 5600 Series]
Attached a Xorg.0.log.
Go to the line containing "NOW I PHYSICALY CONNECT THE EXTERNAL MONITOR" and see what's going on.
Thanks.
