extras vs. stable

Under FEdora Core 1 and 2, there were repositories labeled as "stable". (You can find them at http://download.fedora.us/fedora/fedora/1/$ARCH/RPMS.stable/ and http://download.fedora.us/fedora/fed...6/RPMS.stable/.) Both of them had a large amount of software. Under Fedora Core 3, that repository is no longer there. Instead, there is what seems to be an "extras" repository located at http://download.fedora.us/fedora/fed...6/RPMS.extras/. However there is nothing inside of this repository. Will this repository get populated at a later time? What should I do if I would like to get the software that was located in the "stable" repositories?

Thanks all.

Supposedly Fedora is Core and Fedora extras provides alternatives or extra software. Eventually there should be something there, probably most of the stuff from the old stable.
