can't set up new wifi network to share my wired internet connection

I have a wired internet connection on my MacBook running Fedora 15 and I want to share this connection via WiFi to access the internet with my smartphone. I found this guide: http://fedoraunity.org/Members/dcr22...fi-with-fedora and I also found the window shown in the secont picture (though not the one shown in the first picture).

The problem is that I don't really know what to fill in into the fields in the 'Wireless'-tab. Google told me to choose the Mode Ad-hoc and I tried to fill up the MAC-fields on the bottom with the numbers I got typing ifconfig in the Terminal. But whatever I tried, the Save-Button never became clickable...

What exactly do I have to do?

I am trying to do the exact same thing as you. I have followed the guides, setup my Connection to share my wireless. However, when I try to connect either my phone or my tablet to the connection, it sits there trying to obtain an IP address.

I know that androids can sometimes have issues connecting to ad-hoc networks. However, I have replaced my wpa_supplicant on my android to fix this problem and am seeing the network as ad-hoc.

I'm not exactly sure what to try next.
