Red face Nautilus 3: Put the "open parent" and "home" button on the main toolbar

Does anyone know how to put the "open parent" and "home" button on the main toolbar in Nautilus 3 when always_use_location_entry is true?

I've been trying to fix it using /usr/share/nautilus/ui/nautilus-toolbar-ui.xml but adding <toolitem name="Up" action="Up"/> to it does not seem to help...
