trusted device eth0 ?

My FC3 won't see my Windows box and I found the release notes about using a windows file server.

"Configure a WINS server on the network, and set the "wins server" option in smb.conf to the address of the WINS server"

How do I configure a WINS server on the network? Do I need that to share files?
I set the address but it still doesn't work unless I set the firewall to trust eth0. I have to have the address in smb.conf and eth0 set to trusted and then I can share files.

Is this safe on the Internet with eth0 set to trusted?

eth0 is your network card. That's all I can say. I am not so goot at security on linux.
