KDE or GNOME3
I know that the default version of Fedora ships with Gnome3.
But, how many people use KDE instead of GNOME?
And which one DE do you prefer?
It's possible to estimate a percentage?
I'm using both (on separate partitions) and I can't decide which one is better ...

Re: KDE or GNOME3
PiElle, this is the most-discussed topic on FedoraForum.org . You'll find ancient threads about it all over the place, but it comes down to trying both and deciding for yourself. There are Live CD's available for you to sample, of course.
Now, as to a percentage? Well, consider that Gnome is the default DE for Fedora, so just as with any other distro, the default DE is going to be the prevalent one. No percentage data's available however.

Re: KDE or GNOME3
I think you should decide for yourself, instead of making your choice on numbers.
If I had to choose between GNOME and KDE, I would choose for GNOME. The reason for that, is because it uses GTK+.
But nothing beats OpenBox with tint2

Yes. The current estimate (as of 2011-06-18) is 50%.*
* Margin of error in the estimate is +/- 50%.

Re: KDE or GNOME3
I've used both kde and gnome over the years... yes, GNOME3 is a HUGH departure from the old GNOME... I kind of warmed up to it.. but there were some things that I just didn't like... the main reason for using gnome over kde is that most examples of doing systems management are usually shown using gnome and trying to translate a gnome function into the kde equiv sometimes can be difficult... I used FC15, but when it broke my ATI dual head monitors where only one monitor worked..I abandoned it and reverted back to FC14... will I stay with FC... well, that is yet to be determined....

Except maybe OpenBox without tint2. If you have a middle-mousebutton, who needs a panel?

Re: KDE or GNOME3
For years (since the 0.99 code freeze in 1998) I preferred Gnome over KDE... That is until Gnome 3
Currently I am using Xfce and trying it out, but as it stands at the moment, I much prefer KDE over Gnome 3. I prefer Gnome 2 over KDE.

Re: KDE or GNOME3
I saw someone using gnome 3 that had it set up pretty much exactly like gnome 2. Why more people don't do that instead of complaining is beyond me.
But yeah, I like gnome 3 as is.

Re: KDE or GNOME3
Well due to ati problems with gnome 3 I use kde. Even if ati or gnome3 fix's the error. I think I will stay with kde.

Yeah, and in the time they spent complaining they could've learned how to set up GNOME 3 to be like GNOME 2. Some people just love to complain.

No way to be accurate, but these should give a bit of an idea:
http://spins.fedoraproject.org/
Compare those numbers to:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Statistics
The spins stats are unfortunately only for torrents but still, should give you a bit of an idea. You get the totals for torrents on Fedora statistics page.
Don't forget that those who install any WM/DE with Yum after downloading the CD/ DVD are not counted anywhere.

Re: KDE or GNOME3
I use both. KDE annoys me a lot at the moment (at least in case of openSUSE) because everything is hidden away/several clicks away. Gnome 2.6 took some getting used to, but it was generally like it over KDE (less clicks, etc.). Gnome 3 on the other hand takes a lot of getting used to at the moment cause i keep moving my mouse too far into the right corner. I would try iut all and see what happens
