fedora 15 does not recognize dual 5600 xeon?

In a fresh install on vmware player, the second processor is not recognized , cores are not all recognized either

cat /proc/cpuinfo lists processor 0 , 1,2,3 with the model name xeon x5650. Does not appear to recognize that there are 2 processors with each 6 cores?

i suspect a special configuration is required for the kernel. Can anyone help and point me in the right direction. Preferably already compiled , i can also compile the source if required.

if i get a new kernel, what part of the documentation do i need to read to replace the old one?

thanks

Henri

On VMware, you configure the number of processors (and other hardware) seen by a guest OS. The default is 1.
