Boot loader help please

Hi i have a hp dv9910us laptop. it has two hard drive bays. for the main hard drive it has windows 7 and a recovery partition. i installed fedora 15 recently and i would like to have the option to either boot up windows 7 or fedora 15 can any one help me add fedora to the main boot loader?

Hello ebenz,

If you run: grub-install whilst you are in fedora, it should install grub to the mbr whereupon you can edit it to add your windows partition if it's not been detected. If you can't run fedora on your machine because the current bootloader won't give you the option, you can install grub from a live cd, say fedora-live. You will need to check the grub.conf file which it puts in /boot/grub to make sure your windows partition has an entry so that you can choose it on next boot. Ben.

nsnbm covered it, but as a word of advice (been here, it sucks), before you go messing with the bootloader, BACK YOUR SYSTEM UP
